Iyengar Yoga

Yoga Amrita teaches Iyengar Yoga, a method developed by yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar & emphasises precision and alignment in the postures.

The teaching of Iyengar-style yoga is differentiated from other methods by a world-wide, standardised system of instruction. Teaching is oriented towards gradual but steady progress, rather than quick and fleeting results. Over a period of time, Iyengar Yoga becomes an extremely powerful and sophisticated discipline which can be practised to a very advanced age.

Iyengar Yoga is for anyone irrespective of age, gender, health, religion and circumstances in life. Iyengar Yoga is not competitive. You do not need to be an expert or at the peak of physical fitness to practice yoga.

Middle: B.K.S. Iyengar (1918 —2014), his daughter Geeta Iyengar (right) and granddaughter Abhijata Sridar (left) ~ sharing a wealth of knowledge and experience with the world.
Only certified Iyengar teachers are entitled to use the name of yoga master BKS Iyengar & his teaching method. Each certified teacher is committed to upholding the excellence and purity of Iyengar Yoga. Colonic hydrotherapy is essentially a process of detoxification. Warm filtered water is introduced into the colon and stimulates the peristaltic movement of the bowel muscle. The water cleanses the bowel of toxins, and removes unfriendly bacteria, yeasts, gas, mucous, impacted faecal deposits and parasites. Toxins that stay in the colon, can enter the blood stream and cause lethargy and bad digestion. It is like a slow form of self-intoxication that can result in sluggishness and chronic digestive issues that decrease your sense of well-being. During a session your bowel will be cleansed, toned, strengthened and rejuvenated to a natural state of well-being.

Our colon hydrotherapy services are of the highest quality, given by qualified Practitioners and experienced Colon Hydro Therapists. We are happy to offer the ultimate combination of detoxification and naturopathic modalities such as nutrition, herbal medicine, iris analysis, exercise and life style advices. With over 25 years of training and experience in Europe and Australia we design unique programs that support your digestive issues and personal aims to get healthier. We are only happy if we can make your colon irrigation a safe and nourishing experience.
